The tenants association represents tenants in public housing and Section 8 housing owned and operated by Tallahassee Housing Authority. Mission

The mission of OAUTA is to promote the social welfare of low income and public housing residents. Its resources and efforts are devoted to charitable, educational, social and recreational purposes. OAUTA provides a unified voice for public housing, Section 8, low income and very low income residents in the community.

In 1972, residents of the Orange Avenue Apartments began to meet, organize, and address their concerns. In December 1973, the group incorporated as OAUTA.
